Scoliosis is a condition characterized by an abnormal lateral curvature of the spine, often resembling an “S” or “C” shape. It can be congenital, idiopathic (unknown cause), or develop due to neuromuscular conditions. Kyphosis, on the other hand, involves an exaggerated forward rounding of the upper back, commonly referred to as a "hunchback" posture. While mild cases can be managed conservatively, more severe deformities may require surgical intervention.
Both conditions can cause back pain, limited mobility, breathing difficulties (in advanced cases), and a noticeable change in posture, significantly impacting self-esteem and quality of life.
